leib Tropper talks about the RJJ Elementary. It was in the year 1900 when Rabbi Jacob Joseph school opened its doors
as the first Jewish Orthodox school in NY. It started off as an
elementary school and quickly expanded and included a high school. It
was located on the Lower East side of Manhattan and was housed in 2
buildings.
In the early forties Rabbi Weiss was installed as the principal of the
Elementary School and Rabbi Kagan as principal of the High School
Religious program.
Not many years later ,Rav Aharon Kotler,zt'l sent
His Student from kletzk, Rav Mendel Kravitz,zt'l to become Dean of Men
of the Rabbinic program.
Some of the first students who Graduated
RJJ Rabbinic program became leaders of various communities. Rabbi Meir
Hershkowitz, shlita who was once a student of RJJ became the Dean of
Yeshiva of Stanford, CT.
Rabbi Moshe Saks,shlita, also a Graduate became a judge on a Rabbinic court in Jerusalem.
